Meet Rizwan Ahmad, DDS
I opened the practice in early 2013. I have always envisioned my office to be a place where I practice dentistry in a laid back, and trusting atmosphere. My passions are new gadgets and technology to make practicing dentistry more efficient, even though my wife thinks they are going to go into the closet like all my other gadgets. My favorite gadget is our Photobiomodulation Laser (PBM laser) which aids in healing, reduces inflammation, and grows head hair (I’ll test it out and let you know myself!). My wife and I will use this for patients with TMJ pain, teeth sensitivity, migraines, and after invasive procedures.
Dr. Ahmad was born and raised here in Montgomery County. At the University of Maryland, he received bachelor’s degrees in both Computer Science and Biology. Upon graduation, he worked at the Pentagon as a computer programmer but after almost two years, Dr. Ahmad decided to go back to school and earned his D.D.S. degree from the University of Maryland Dental School. He performed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was extensively trained in performing esthetic reconstruction cases, placing and restoring dental implants, and dental management for cancer, immune-compromised, and physically debilitated patients.
Dr. Ahmad takes great pride in treating the elderly community. He is a frequent guest speaker at assisted living homes, detailing the present oral health concerns for seniors. Dr. Ahmad is a member of the Special Care Dental Association (SCDA) and volunteers at the Special Olympics performing dental screenings for its athletes.
Otherwise, Dr. Ahmad is a huge Washington Capitals and Washington Commanders fan. So be careful if you mention sports, because he may talk your head off!
